DESCRIPTION:There are lots of methodologies and different design styles in
our industry. Many try hard to differentiate from the others\; but what
if I told you that they’re really all based on the same five principles?
In this session I’ll level-set on SOLID\n * Single Responsibility Princip
le (SRP)\n * Open Closed Principle (OCP)\n * Liskov Substitution Principl
 e (LSP)\n * Interface Segregation Principle (ISP)\n * Dependency Inversio
n Principle (DIP)\nThen we detail the various principles around other met
 hodologies/styles including Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)\, Domain
Driven Design (DDD)\, Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS)\, F
unctional Programming\, Agile Software Development\, and even Database No
rmalization. We will also detail some common patterns and how they are em
bodiment of at least one of the principles.\nThis is then followed up wit
h some guidance on how SOLID really isn’t Object Oriented Design (OOD) sp
ecific and these uses of SOLID outside of just OOD are just and example o
f how it can be used in many places and in many ways.
